Postdoctoral Positions in Computational Genomics
Penn Center for Bioinformatics and Penn Genomics Institute

The Penn Center for Bioinformatics (PCBI) and Penn Genomics Institute (PGI) invites applications for postdoctoral positions in Computational Genomics with applications in Cell Biology and Neuroscience . We expect to assemble a team of postdoctoral fellows working closely with an interdisciplinary group of faculty advisors ranging from computer science and mechanical engineering, to cell biology and neurobiology. The positions will be appointed for two years with potential extensions based on review. Candidates may cover one or more of the following areas: Modeling and Simulation, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Databases, and Neurogenomics. Potential projects include:

  1. Algorithm/analysis development for comparative genomic annotations and molecular interactions
  2. Text-mining scientific literature for molecular processes
  3. Database technology development for distributed queries and spatial/temporal reasoning
  4. Multi-scale systems modeling for cell biological processes
  5. Disease genomics including single-cell functional genomics, SNP genotyping, and epigenomics
Applicants should submit CVs, a selection of two representative publications (pdf preferred), and a list of potential recommendations.

Additional inquiries should be directed to:
