The Penn Program in Single Cell Biology and ITMAT are hosting the University of Pennsylvania’s sixth Single Cell Biology Symposium on November 4, 2022. This event will bring to Penn a group of distinguished investigators who have gone “Beyond Single Cells” to the forefront of single cell subcellular organelle ‘omics. Single cell analyses have “leapfrogged” over the “stamp collecting” phase of cell atlas construction and are now using next-gen subcellular ‘omic and imaging analyses to gain novel insights into cell structure, subcellular organelle function and interactions that work synergistically to generate the emergent properties of single cells. From probing single cells and subcellular organelles, this symposium will highlight research that will excite a broad audience across a variety of scientific disciplines.
Featured speakers include:
- Wesley Legant, Assistant Professor, Depts of Pharmacology and Biomedical Engineering, Univ of North Carolina, School of Medicine
- Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz, Senior Group Leader and Head of Janelia's 4D Cellular Physiology, HHMI
- Jennifer Phillips-Cremins, Associate Professor and Deans' Faculty Fellow in Engineering and Medicine, Univ of Pennsylvania
- Jin Zhang, Professor and vice Chair, Dept of Pharmacology, Professor, Depts of Chemistry & Biochemistry and Bioengineering, Co-director, Center for Cell Signaling San Diego, Univ of California San Diego
This symposium is free, but registration is required.
